This Yorktown Battlefield Anniversary Session was so sweet to me. Bob and Suse are the parents of a good friend and client of mine, Rachel. I’ve had her in front of my camera multiple times. In some of those cases Bob & Suse have been around the action, helping us move a sofa around for Rachel’s engagement session at the Moore House in Yorktown, or fluffing a veil at her bridal session at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Susanne was always somewhere close by, ready to pounce on being helpful at her daughter’s shoots.

This anniversary session was different, since Susanne and Bob were the main subject in front of the camera! I’m so stoked they decided on a Yorktown Battlefield Anniversary Session to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. They even brought their classic wedding portrait from the early 90’s, which I loved incorporating into their shoot. I really enjoyed spending this time with them, and getting to know their relationship. They are 25 years deep, and enjoying some new adventures together! Earlier this year they traveled to New Orleans for the first time, and they have more trips planned for the fall. I love the season of life I’m in, raising my children… but man, I can’t wait to be able to travel the world with my love on day!

Bob & Susanne, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special anniversary! I hope to be half as free spirited as you two when Caleb and I have been married for 20+ years!
