Family Photography Hampton Roads
Family portraits are so important. You never know what could happen in your future, and getting annual portraits taken is key in documenting your family growth. I do these sessions outdoors, as I’m not a studio photographer. If you get stuck on where you may want to do your family photos, do NOT worry, I have a ton of places in the Hampton Roads area for your session. Fort Monroe is highlighted in this gallery and it’s probably my favorite spot for families!
Every family photographer in Hampton Roads has a different way to approach a family session to get the desired result. The galleries I deliver to my clients look much different than others, and I love that! My goal for a family session is to take some posed, mantle worth images for all included in the shoot as well as some “lifestyle” images that are more candid and fun.
There are 5 different images you can expect to receive in your full gallery but before we get to that part I have one small warning. Sessions with children under the age of 5 can be very unpredictable, and that is OK! It’s honestly expected, so please do not feel like if your child isn’t cooperating your images won’t turn out. Trust me when I say, I can use it to our advantage and get some V fun shots of them.
Full Family Photos
Expect to have large group shots with everyone looking at the camera! This is one of my top priorities in shooting families, again for that mantle worthy image!
Individual Family Photos
Families grow tremendously. While the family highlighted above used to be a family of 5, now the children are adults and have families of their own. I’m sure to break out into individual groups for EVERYONE include the OG fam.
Your parents with your children
One thing I loved more than anything growing up was my grandparents! I always strive to get some less posed images of grandmas and grandpas with their little grand babies. Mostly because I cherish that relationship in my own life, as well as in my children’s lives.
Photos with your siblings
This one can feel uncomfortable if you’re all adults, but just go with it. Make your mom smile even bigger when she gets her online gallery.
Even photos with just your spouse!
And of course. A few romantic images with your spouse, if you’re willing. These will be great for social media posts on anniversaries and birthdays! You’ll be happy to have those in your image bank!
