Whitney & Justin’s Winter Wedding

I can’t believe this day has come and gone so quickly. The anticipation for this one was absolutely through the roof, and they partied so hard that the power literally went out… but we’ll get to that later.

364 days of engagement lead up to this winter wedding at the Venue at Denali Jean Ranch. Justin had asked Whitney to be his bride one day short of a year before their wedding. It’s important enough to mention that they were on the top of a mountain in Aspen when he got down on that knee. I guess they like the cold winter months, because they’ll celebrate in the winter for many years to come.

Photographing Whitney & Justin’s big day at the Venue at Denali Jean Ranch was so much fun. If you told me in high school that I would be at their wedding, let alone photographing it, I would have laughed right in your face. Whitney graduated a year before me, but we knew of each other through passing. So yeah, I would have busted my appendix laughing at your. BUT here we are, and I’m so thankful she chose me to capture this day for her.

Both Whitney & Justin were so calm leading up to their first look, which was such a sweet moment for them both. Whit got the tears she’d hoped for from Justin, and he got a look at his stunning bride for the first time. Win/win if you ask me. I love when my couples are calm before the first look, and then so blissfully happy afterwards. It’s such a great feeling for everyone involved.

We breezed through their bridal party, and couples portraits before heading into digging up the bourbon they buried a month prior. Their whole bridal party gathered around them and shared a sip after they dug it up. It made for some cute photos, and toasty bridesmaids! What a fun tradition!
