I include engagement sessions in The Wedding Experience because I truly believe that they are a VITAL part of the entire process. During your engagement session, you’ll have the chance to get to know me, experience how I shoot and how I handle posing and lighting. This session will make a HUGE impact on how the wedding day flows.
Here are my top 3 reasons to spend this time with your wedding photographer.
- Comfort: Your wedding photogrpaher going to be with you for eight hours on one of the biggest days of your life, so you want to make sure you feel comfortable and confident working with them. This is why every Ashley Hesse couple receives a complimentary engagement session. I’ll give you tips for posing to help you and your partner feel at ease in front of the camera. (And don’t worry, I speak fluent groom so rest assured that the session will be fun for everyone!)
2. Education: It will be SO helpful to know how your photographer poses, and directs you before you’re in your wedding gown. If you’re not comfortable with the poses and prompts, you’ll have time to chat with your photographer before the wedding about those concerns. Your photographer should be able to work with your concerns for the big day.
3. You can use this opportunity to get your wedding day makeup trial done! You’ll feel like a superstar at your session, which skyrockets your confidence! We’ll have THE BEST time. You will also be able to see how your wedding makeup photographs, and make adjustments if needed.
As someone who’s going to be capturing the most important and intimate moment of your life, I’ll be your number one support system. That means cultivating a genuine friendship with you and your partner so I can capture your big day as if you were the photographer. It also means working closely with the coordinator to ensure you have the most stress-free planning process possible.
Let’s be honest: getting lost in the details can make wedding planning feel overwhelming and exhausting. So it’s my job to remind you that this is a celebration, not a work project!
