I always love coming back for spring engagement session at Colonial Williamsburg! This time was with Emily & Alex, who brought along their adorable golden, Archie! I have known of Emily and Alex for a long time, but I was never really introduced to them until within the last 18 months or so. One of my best friends and one of Emily’s best friends are sisters. Even if we weren’t friends on our own, yet, we’ve been to many birthday dinners and graduation parties together.
Emily is such a firecracker, and a whole good time. I always enjoy life a little more when she’s around! I think Alex feels the same way. The proof would be the beautiful engagement ring he put on her finger. His feelings go all the way back to 2014 when they met at a house party. Emily beat him twice at beer pong, and he was hooked. Alex asked her to the movies, and she was so nervous she didn’t sit next to him! After a while of dating she got more comfortable, thankfully!
I asked Emily when she knew Alex was “the one” for her and she told me it had to be when her dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. She was a wreck when she got the phone call, so Alex took the phone and listened to all of the details for her. He was calm, and collected while she couldn’t be and that to her was the perfect representation of what their relationship would be. She was completely clueless when the proposal happened. They walk their dog on Fort Monroe often, so when Alex suggested, Emily didn’t think anything of it. They walked to the gazebo and Alex had put a “Marry my dad” bandana on Archie. He literally just said “Emily you’re the love of my life. I had a whole long speech prepared. But I can’t remember it. Will you marry me?” How cute, right?
I had the best time at their Spring Engagement Colonial Williamsburg, and I cannot wait for the Seven Springs wedding next year! Congratulations again Emily & Alex!! I can’t wait to continue celebrating with you through life <3
