Emily + Logan’s Maternity Session

Something I LOVE about my job is connecting with people genuinely and capturing their growth in life. This is one of the many reasons I was so excited about this Pleasure House Point Maternity session.

I met Emily when she was a single nursing student, assisting alongside myself and another photographer in 2016. We connected on Instagram, and have followed each other ever since. A few years back I hosted a styled shoot and needed a bride & groom model. I reached out to Emily, who was a newlywed at the time and she & Logan agreed to be our models! The shoot went flawlessly, it was actually featured on multiple bridal websites! Cut to the following year when I posted about my annual Christmas Tree Farm Mini Sessions, Emily signed up for a slot. I was thrilled to see them and photograph some holiday photos for them. It wasn’t long after that she reached out again, and we set up her pregnancy announcement photos and now their Pleasure House Point Maternity shoot.

I’m always nervous about shooting maternity in the summertime. It can get really hot and humid around the waterfront this time of year, and I would hate for an expectant mother to be more uncomfortable because of that. Thankfully our day wasn’t nearly as bad as it could have been at Pleasure House Point. Emily & Logan cuddled, laughed (a lot) and are so excited for their little girl to arrive.
