Where do I start…
Where do I even start with this Maymont Park Engagement Session? First off, let’s talk about Rebecca and Kurt. These two and their accomplishments absolutely blow me away. Both under 30 and have worked abroad teaching English in two different countries, have earned their Masters Degrees, and are starting their life together in Washington DC after securing their dream jobs! They’re going to change the world together. I can just feel it!
Rebecca and Kurt are one of the many couples affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic. Their wedding plans did change, but they are so excited to get married that it didn’t really matter how they do it. In the words of Rebecca “Kurt is goofy, can quote any TV show, movie, or song lyric after hearing it once, and is the life of the party. I (Rebecca) am more of an introvert, love to sing and play guitar, read books, and paint. I like to think we make each other more well-rounded people.” After meeting them, I couldn’t agree more. They absolutely fit together perfectly.
Their session:
We met for this Maymont Park Engagement Session on a toasty Saturday night in June. There were rainstorms all day but somehow we made it out raindrop free. It’s not very common to see a waterfall in the city, but we managed to find one in the Japanese gardens. We strolled through the Italian gardens, and an herb garden (which smelled delicious). Afterward, a stroll over to Belle Isle to get portraits on the banks of the rushing waters of the James River. It felt like an hour had passed when we said our goodbyes but it was actually over two hours of time together.
Rebecca and Kurt, I thoroughly enjoyed our time together this weekend and I genuinely cannot wait for your wedding day in a few short weeks. All of time you spent apart during grad-school are coming to a close as you start your married life in DC. I can’t wait to see you on 7/11! – Ashley
