There is something about the hidden gardens that make a spring Colonial Williamsburg Engagement session one of my favorite places to shoot. I met with Lauren and Joe for their session and we lucked out with the weather. It was a mild day, not hot or cold. Kind of like that speech from the movie Miss Congeniality… it’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket! We didn’t even need the light jacket, it was just warm enough.
Lauren & Joe met in PA while visiting a new baby of their mutual friends. Laure was home visiting from college, and he was in town to meet the baby. They met again a few days later with those friends for their first date and shared an ice cream sundae. Joe came back to Virginia after that but managed to stay in Lauren’s life with phone calls and text messages.
I asked Lauren a few questions about how they got to the point of marriage, and her responses were so sweet. When asked” When did you know he was the one”, she responded with “I knew he was special the very first night we met.” They were long distance for a few years and the fact that he would make time to visit her frequently and make her a priority set it in stone for Lauren.
Now here we are, celebrating their commitment with a Colonial Williamsburg Engagement session. I’m so excited for you two, and I can’t wait to celebrate your marriage at Kiln Creek next year!
