Brenna + Alex’s Jefferson Hotel Engagement Session
I am so excited that I finally was able to shoot around the Jefferson Hotel! Brenna & Alex had their first date (in Richmond) at the restaurant here, so when she suggested we start their engagement session there I was 100% in for it! I went to VCU and always walked past the historic hotel, but I never went in or really looked around. This was the perfect opportunity to settle those curiosities from years (and years) ago.
We met on a Sunday night, and somehow the city was calm. There wasn’t a lot of traffic, or trouble parking wich is almost always a small struggle for my sessions. It’s safe to say Brenna & Alex fell into the posing evolution very easily, and they rocked it out! These first photos in the blog are literally within the first 5 minutes of our shoot! PROFESSIONALS I tell you!!
Their story is sweet, and traditional. They met through mutual friends. Brenna worked with his college friend’s now wife. When Alex came down to visit his friend, she just so happened to be hanging out with them! He was living in DC at the time so he came down a few more times to see that “friend” and then he got a job offer in Richmond. He moved to Richmond for that job and the rest is history! Alex proposed by inviting two other couples out to Charlottesville for a day. Brenna thought they were just going to do some winery hopping, and we ended up at Eastwood Farm Winery in Charlottesville. It had been raining a bit, but when it let up they went up the hill to this lookout the winery had. He said he wanted to take some photos and he proposed right there! Brenna was shocked and so happy!
They’ll be married in Richmond this coming Spring, and I’m so excited to see them then! Congrats you two!!
